David Hohuan MD, MPH is a double board certified Facial Plastic Reconstructive Surgeon and Head and Neck Surgeon who is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He has served as administrative chief resident at the Yale University School of Medicine where he led the inpatient head and neck service. His academic posts include a clinical associate professorship at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine where he helped in the training of medical students and residents, as well as Clinical Instructor at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine within the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Here, he managed all of the Level I Maxillofacial Trauma for the department, in addition to running and leading his own facial plastic and reconstructive surgery clinic at the University and the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center.
Dr. Hohuan has established the only premier facial plastic surgery practice in Yuma, AZ and Southern California’s Imperial County. His vision is to offer patients an individualized and customized patient experience that emphasizes quality, technical proficiency, and the marriage of form, function, and harmony. As much as he is known for his warm bedside manner, attention to detail, and natural results, Dr. Hohuan’s elite medical training allows him to provide the most cutting-edge and technically advanced procedures to his patients.
Dr. Hohuan is a San Diego native. He graduated phi beta kapp and magna cum laude from UCSD, and went on to complete his medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. During this time, he also obtained a Master’s in Public Health with a focus on Humanitarian Assistance at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He completed his general surgery internship at the Yale University School of Medicine, as well as four years of residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Yale. He was awarded one of only 40 highly competitive fellowships in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery available within all of North America at the Virginia Commonwealth University-Medical College of Virginia. He has achieved double board certification and is a diplomate of both the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
